Who are the famous actors depicting millionaires or fictional characters that we are most in awe of? That glitz and glam lifestyle that our tv shows or movies never fail to mesmerize us with? Well, there’s the entire cast of Gossip Girl who showed what life is like on the Upper East Side. And then there are movies characters like Richie Rich or men in expensive suits and cars as those shown in the James Bond movies and the like.
Now all this tv show depiction of the millionaire lifestyle and the extravagant lifestyle is all but a fantasy. I know your minds were made up. Hollywood has a way of convincing you of things that aren’t real. Yes. You read that right. That all so glamorous lifestyle is all but fiction. Well, maybe not all, maybe the lifestyle is not incorrectly portrayed. But the appearance of these famous rich people is very wrong.
There are certain prejudices that excessive exposure to tv shows and movies do create without one having the right means of information to compare it against. And this article shall pertain to the image of millionaire personalities that has been mythically sanctioned into an over-the-top image.
Now when you hear the term ‘millionaire’ you expect to see a very stable and established personality with perfect suits and expensive cars and the latest gadgets who consume only the most expensive brands and wears only the most well-known products.
But have you ever really sat down and hung out with a millionaire? Have you actually seen very rich people showing off their money and extravagance? I bet most of you have not even met real millionaires.
Because real millionaires do not have a need to show off their wealth. They are so wealthy themselves that they have no need to impress anyone else. Their success exceeds their introduction and they don’t require expensive clothing or expensive watches and jewelry to make a point or prove their financial standing to anyone. The ones who need to explicitly make this a point are the ones who are insecure of their financial standing and need to show off in order to depict their status.
Now to make this even more obvious, let’s bring out some real and fictional millionaires.
A Millionaires’ Hair Is Always On Point
Bruce Wayne
Bruce Wayne has never attended a public gathering without his hair being so on point that it feels like each fiber was specifically crafted and styled by his personal stylist. But that’s all fiction folks! Have you ever seen Mark Zuckerberg with his hair ever properly styled? In fact, his messy curls on the tip of his head are almost his signature hairdo.

A Millionaire is Always Dressed Up
Mr. Gatsby
No millionaire on air has ever been better dressed than Mr. Gatsby. He was sharp at all times, whether he was hosting his extremely lavish parties or playing golf or just meeting his neighbors. Looking sharp and appealing to his wealth was the motto to his character. But you never see Bill Gates losing sleep over what to wear to the following mega-meeting. He is mostly laid back and easy in his comfortable clothing making dollars with that brilliant brain of his.

A Millionaire Is Surrounded With a Trusted Close-Knit Circle
Lara Croft
Another thing somehow expected from millionaire life is that they have a closely knit circle of family or friends who they can always rely on and their peers’ respect and obey them. Well, that’s true but real life millionaires are not free from scolds or arguments with their loved ones and sometimes have to take the hat from family or friends as well.

A Millionaire Must Always Appear Serious
Christian Grey
Hollywood has a way of making millionaires seem serious distant and far too professional to have a soul. They are mostly stiff and arrogant and even a little too condescending. But in real life millionaires have a sweetheart and a glow and a contagious smile because their success is not defined by money but why their vision and how they felt they could better serve society.

A Millionaires Public Reputation is His Greatest Asset
Tony Stark
Another thing that movies and tv shows have made abundantly clear is that the public image and reputation are all there is to someone’s monetary standing and if you have one false public appearance then your entire build up for all future propositions have gone to shambles. Well if that were true then Warren Buffet would have been a lot more conscious of he eats in front of the cameras and how!
Warren Buffet
So you see? Not a lot of millionaires, well, actually these are billionaires, but the same principle applies here as well, are that conscious of themselves and care that much about others opinions because they are satisfied with what they did and what they gave and they do not care much for the appeal and acceptance of others as such.
If we look at Mr. Burns, all he cares about is how to extract money out of minimal expenses and live his lavish life. Do you ever see him being even a little conscious of what others would think of him? No, because he is the boss of everyone’s income and their necks are on the line at his will.
Not all millionaires are as crude though but this is just a humorous example to get the message across that the lion does not concern himself with the opinion of the sheep.
