Many people who have scars have an interesting story to tell about the way they got them. While some may seem uncomfortable with facial scars. Others love flaunting them especially men who it gives a rugged look. Remember Tony Montana in Scarface?? In fact there are several celebrities with scars and it would be interesting to know how they got them so here are 12 famous personalities with scars and their origins.

12 Al Capone

The most famous gangster in US history, Al Capone was the original Scarface because of his facial scars which he incidentally hated. The story about Capone’s scars which did the rounds at that time was that he was attacked by Frank Gallucio when Capone was working as a bouncer in a bar. Capone insulted his Sister and attacked Gallucio after which he slashed Capone with a knife three times.

11 Sean Bean

Sean Bean has a distinctive scar over his left eye which was the result of an injury when filming for Patriot Games alongside Harrison Ford. Ford had accidentally hit Bean in the face with a boathook. Bean’s face had to be masked by makeup so that the scar wasn’t visible.

10 Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner’s leg scar has gained quite a lot of attention as she has been highlighting it on social media and pictures. She said she got it when she was 5 playing hide and seek with her sister Kendall. The scar was a result of climbing a gate that had a pole sticking out of it which accidentally went into Kylie’s leg and almost did huge damage.

9 Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran’s facial scar was a result of an accident at a party where Princess Beatrice, daughter of Prince Andrew was present. The princess was fooling around trying to knight Sheeran with her father’s ceremonial sword but couldn’t control it. When she swung it back, it hit Sheeran in the cheek. Incidentally Sheeran was told not to speak of the incident.

8 Harrison Ford

Among personalities with scars, Harrison Ford’s scar was the result of inept surgery after being injured in a car crash. While driving to work, Ford was trying to put on his seatbelt when he lost control and smashed into a telephone pole hitting his face against the steering wheel.

7 Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone hid her scar for years and avoided speaking about it but her scar has become so face there are pages of it on the internet. Stone revealed she got it as a child when she was riding a horse which ran into a clothesline which was so tight it almost ripped her neck open.

6 Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill’s arm scar was a result of injury when he was 15. Hill and a friend were messing around in another friend’s SUV that belonged to his parents. When his friend who was driving the vehicle started fishtailing, Hill put his arm out the window. The SUV flipped over on its side crushing Hill’s arm against the pavement. Hill promised his parents he would never fool around again. He said, “I look at this scar every day. That reminds me to work hard.”

Tommy Flanagan

The Glasgow smiler has a couple of scars on his face. When Flanagan was younger, he was attacked outside a nightclub by an attacker wielding a knife who cut Flanagan’s face up pretty badly.

Michael Williams was a music video dancer in the early days of his career. One night while at a popping party in Queens, he found some of his friends on the road being heckled by a group of men. When he approached his friends to see if they needed help, one of the men slashed Williams with a razor. That ended his music video dancing career but paved the way for acting as a thug in movies.

Padma Lakshmi

The super model at one time and Top Chef Host has a very visible scar on her arm which attracts attention. Lakshmi said that she got the scar as the result of being injured in a very serious car crash when she was just 14. Her right arm was shattered and her hip fractured. She was soon left with a scar seven inches long and half an inch wide.

2 Jason Momoa

The Game of Thrones star remembers how he got his scar back in 2008 during a fight with another man who was a criminal on probation for gun charges. The man struck Momoa with a pint glass smashing it across his face. Momoa had to undergo reconstructive surgery and got 140 stitches. The scar did suit his role as Khal Drogo though.

Richard Lynch had a huge fan following because of his roles in Battlestar Galactica, Lords of Salem and various movies. As one of these personalities with his scars however was the result of a crazy LSD trip in which Lynch found himself walking alone in Central Park in 1967. He actually tried setting himself on fire.
