She Lays 5 Drawers In The Grass To Create The Most Gorgeous Dresser Ever ~ NEWSOLOGIES

Modern-day furniture has the reputation of being, well, less than stellar. Cheap, flimsy, and mass-produced, today’s home furnishings are definitely not the stuff of inheritance.

But because it’s so invaluable, this pennywise particle board is capable of taking many forms. While you would never think of spray painting a precious antique, you probably wouldn’t give a second thought to spraying down a cheap old dresser.

That’s why I adore this brilliant DIY project. Though I’m definitely no stranger to cute furniture facelifts, I never would have thought to do this to my drawers!

But thanks to blogger Kelsey Johnson of Design-Innovate-Create, I now know exactly what I’ll be doing the next time my furniture needs some freshening up — and all I’ll need is some fabric and spray paint!

When her friend asked for help jazzing up her old dresser, blogger Kelsey knew exactly what she wanted to do. She started by removing the drawers and moving everything to the front yard.

Next, she removed all the hardware from the drawers.

Then, she and her friend spray painted the dresser a beautiful shade of gray.

After that, they grabbed some pieces of lace and draped them over the length of the drawers.

Her friend's favorite color combination was pink and gray, so the next step was to spray the lace-covered drawers in a lovely baby pink. They let them dry for a bit, then gave them a second coat.

After everything was dry, they gently peeled up the lace.

The delicate pattern of the fabric was left behind, dusted in a dainty shade of pink.

When all the drawers were done, it was time for the hardware.

Instead of buying new pieces, they simply grabbed some metallic paint and gave the old hardware a facelift.

When it was finished, her old dresser was unrecognizable. Isn't this adorable?

I never would have thought to use lace as a stencil!
