Eating fast food is a guilty pleasure that so many of us indulge. When confronted with the option we may turn our noses up at it, depending on who's making the offer, but behind closed doors, we are all eating it. Well, maybe not all of us, but you know what we mean. It might not be good for us but it tastes so good and is usually pretty cheap.
Speaking of cheap, what if we told you there's a way that fast food could be even cheaper than it already is? Well, for Curtis Brooner that dream almost became a reality reports People. The Oregon native's story begins on December 15, 2018. On that day, Curtis spent more than an hour in a Burger King toilet. Not for any sinister reason or because he wanted to, but because he was trapped.
According to the report filed by Curtis, 13 days after the incident, the regional manager of the branch in which he was trapped for an hour informed him that the deal was off the table. A few days after that, Mr. Brooner decided to file a lawsuit against the fast food giants. A little more than three months later and BK has thrown in the towel and settled the lawsuit.
While Curtis might not have received the dream that is free burgers for life, he did get $9000 for the ordeal of being locked inside a bathroom for an hour. According to his lawyer, that's enough to buy one Whopper meal a week for the next 22 years. If Curtis can forgive BK and opts to spend his money on once-a-week Whoppers, we imagine he'll get sick of them long before those 22 years are up anyway.
