How To Make DIY Flameless Rose Petal Tea Lights

Keeping candles around the house can create a relaxing ambiance, but they unfortunately can also cause a fire hazard if you’re not careful. A good solution to this problem: flameless tea lights. Without a real flame, you don’t have to worry about a candle toppling over, but you’ll still get that warm glow that makes your home feel cozy and sweet.

Flameless tea lights don’t have to look tacky, however, especially if you make a DIY candle of your own. This rose petal tea light is dainty and romantic, and the best part is, you don’t have to worry about any of your materials catching on fire.

To make these lovely flameless rose petal tea lights, you’ll just need some flameless tea lights, fake roses from the craft store, along with materials that you likely have at home, including scissors and a hot glue gun. They’re super simple to make, and they make great gifts for a birthday or even Valentine’s day. You can scatter them around your home, or save them for a special event or party. Feel free to experiment with different types of flower petals to really switch up the look, and don’t be afraid to mix and match.

Materials

1 Flameless tea lights

2 Fake roses

3 Scissors

4 Hot glue gun

5 Green ribbon/twine

Instructions

1. Remove rosebud from the flower, and pull apart the petals. Discard the smaller center petals.

2. Cut the larger petals apart so they’re separated.

3. Hot glue the petals to the outside of the tea light, making sure that the petals overlap slightly. Usually about 6-7 petals work best.

4. Wrap the bottom with green ribbon or twine. Feel free to tie in a bow if you like the way it looks.
