It’s not uncommon for people to find weird things in their basements or attics. But in 2006, something was supposedly found underneath a London orphanage that shook people to their core.
In the basement was a collection of relics and objects so disturbing that people were left stunned, and when you see them for yourself, you’ll understand.
This is Thomas Theodore Merrylin. He was a crypto-naturalist, fringe zoologist and xenoarchaeologist born in Hellingshire, England.
Supposedly, he spent his life studying and collecting strange, ancient creatures just like this.
Recently, the news that his lost collection had been found beneath an old London orphanage spread like wildfire. People were captivated by the photos of these terrifying oddities.
It was like a museum of pure terror.
This little fairy skeleton is pretty disturbing.
That does not look like an ordinary human skull…
But some people were skeptical. Some of the specimens were just too outlandish to be real.
Things like this dragon are just too fantastical to be real.
It looks like whatever this was died screaming.

I don’t even want to know what that is.
Something about this one seems a little suspicious doesn’t it?
Eventually, it was discovered that these disturbing findings were actually made by a London-based illustrator, writer, and sculptor Alex CF. He created these incredibly detailed terrors for his fictional Merrylin Cryptid Museum.
Somehow, even knowing they’re artificial won’t stop me from having nightmares tonight.
